Hugo Therkelson is a composer and sound designer for performing arts. With a background as a classical dancer (Royal Swedish Ballet, Wiener Staatsoper and others) he started out making music for dance, often combining electronic soundscapes with a romantic orchestral feel.
In 2004 his band “evolver”, formed together with Alex Maksic and Giovanni Bucchieri, released the album “Sparkling City Sounds” (Bolero records/Warner), where dark dramatic string arrangements met with pop music. Their single “Love Confidential” was a national radio hit.
Hugo has created music for several established choreographers such as Pontus Lidberg, Joakim Stephenson and Ina Christel Johannessen. His compositions include works for theatre, film, television and museum sound design. He has written and recorded the music for the musical “Du gnisslar” at Ung scen/öst.
He is also part of the artist duos Ramverk and Tubo.
