Formed in 2004, the Portuguese indie rock band Humanos were created as a project to record and perform some unreleased music of deceased iconic Portuguese singer/songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:5fgtcrHICBqlrkHtSWWu0F">António Variações</a>. After <a href="spotify:artist:5fgtcrHICBqlrkHtSWWu0F">Variações</a>' death in 1984, a box was found containing reel-to-reel tapes that he never released. The music remained in storage for almost the next 20 years. Ultimately transcribed by journalist Nuno Galopim, the songs were then recorded by a group of artists from various Portuguese bands. They released their eponymous debut album in 2004. The live album Humanos ao Vivo followed two years later. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
