Dance music converts with roots in indie rock, Peter Ricq and Robbie Slade formed Humans in 2010. The Vancouver, British Columbia-based duo debuted the same year with the self-released Avec Mes Mecs, a seven-track EP of buzzing, occasionally abrasive material with Slade's candy-coated melodies. Two years later, signed to the Canadian independent <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Hybridity%22">Hybridity</a> label, they released Traps, an EP with more open spaces and softer edges. A more refined album with a relatively sophisticated incorporation of house-inspired productions, Noontide, followed in 2015. Outside the group, Ricq is an artist and illustrator known for his co-creation of the Canadian animated television series League of Super Evil.
