A one man band making upbeat songs with a delightful twist of dark lyrics out of a home studio.
“Long-running indie rock group Hypocrite in a Hippy Crypt return for their seventh Already Dead release, 'The New Planet.' While still falling under the indie/garage rock umbrella, 'The New Planet' sees the project exploring new territory, delving into elements of twee pop and even psychedelia. The album also marks Hypocrite's debut into analog and modular synths, bringing much of the aforementioned psych influence, such as in lead single "The Next Level". While often upbeat and hopeful musically, lyrically the album focuses on themes of escapism and detachment, creating an interesting dynamic of emotions perfect for the end of the summer season. 'The New Planet' sees Hypocrite in a Hippy Crypt in top form, with some of their strongest and catchiest songwriting and production to date, a true gem in an over decade-long career full of them.” - a dude at the label
