Nearly a decade since their last album, electronicore pioneers I See Stars return with THE WHEEL, a fully immersive sixth full-length that embodies patience, purpose, and fate. Comprised of Devin Oliver (vocals), Brent Allen (guitar), Andrew Oliver (keys/programming), and Jeff Valentine (bass), the band scrapped early drafts during Covid to create what Devin calls “a culmination of not just the last year or two, but of the last eight or nine.” Produced by David Bendeth and mixed by Zakk Cervini, the record reflects both personal trials—including Devin’s battle with intracranial hypertension and the loss of the Oliver brothers’ uncle—and a philosophical surrender to destiny. “This way wasn’t a choice for me,” Devin says. “It sounds almost self-deprecating, but I actually think it’s been an honor.” The result is a visceral, vulnerable, and revitalized statement that reaffirms why I See Stars remain one of the genre’s most forward-thinking forces.
