My name is Ilario, I was born in 1991 in a small city in the South of Italy (Crotone). I always had a strong connection with music: my dad used to play bass and produce music in a band in the 60s, my oldest sister is a professional singer (Clara Sorace), and my other sister used to play drums. So I grew up surrounded by music.
I used to pretend to be sick to stay at home, jamming on an old GEM Workstation when I was 6. At the age of 9, I got my first Computer, and in the same period a very well known brand started bundling a music making software with their cereal. That was a match made in heaven!
From that point (and once the internet came in) I experimented with many DAWs: Acid Pro, Reason, FL Studio, Ableton Live, Pro Tools. Nowadays I’m using Cockos Reaper, a fantastic, super customizable, very well-optimized DAW.
I started realizing that music was going to be my career once I went to University. I studied 3 years for a Computer Science degree, and I put music to a side. It took me a while to realize that I was unhappy and that career wouldn’t have fulfilled me. I then dropped out and focused 100% on music.
I can confidently say that that was the best decision I’ve ever made. I now run a small studio near home, working mainly online. I’ve made countless songs for ADs and Trailers, I recently scored the complete OST for an indie Videogame, and started a solo project where I just make the music that I want to make!
