Ian Fisher left his home state of Missouri when he was twenty one to get lost in Europe for fifteen years. His music mixes his rural Midwestern American upbringing with a dark delicacy shaped by his time abroad. Simple, yet emotionally complex, he has the acoustic grit of an early Jeff Tweedy with the sentimentality of Townes Van Zandt and political leanings of Billy Bragg. Having written nearly two thousand songs while touring extensively through Europe, Africa, and North America, his many albums have earned him praise in such outlets as Rolling Stone, who calls his music “A world traveler's perspective on American folk-rock”. When not on the road, you’ll find him at his studio in Vienna, Austria, or on his family farm in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.
