Born in Oxford and raised in Winchester with roots in Wicklow and Antrim, Ryan O’Reilly is a storyteller whose music is defined by lyrical honesty and a life spent on the road. His journey began at teenage open mics in Toronto, followed by studying poetry in Dublin and a seminal period of street-performing on London’s Portobello Road. Ending abruptly when attacked by authorities, breaking his hand and guitar.

O’Reilly first gained a cult following through fan-booked tours and atmospheric shows in medieval churches. His debut album, The Northern Line (2016), captured the grit of his London years, while the follow-up, I Can’t Stand the Sound (2018), was written on a journey across America and recorded in a Brooklyn cinema. Then inspired by his life in Berlin, the third album, Other Plans (2023), reflects the introspection of the pandemic era, recorded at Chale Abbey on the Isle of Wight with producers David Granshaw and Spencer Cullum.

A prolific collaborator, Ryan has co-written with Flyte, Amistat, Anna Vaverková, and Jadea Kelly. His songs feature in Station 19, McDonald & Dodds, Dr Jekyll and the new season of Scrubbs; in L.A., he wrote ITV’s After The Flood credit theme with composer Blair Mowat.

Described by the Evening Standard as the ‘antidote to conveyor-belt pop,’ & ‘mesmeric live’, his live performances, blend dark humour with narrative and melodic depth. New album ‘Native Companion’ produced by Tyler Kyte & Liam Blomqvist was released on April 14th 2026
