Ryan O’Reilly is a songwriter whose music blends English, Canadian and Irish influences with clear, emotionally honest storytelling. Born in Oxford and raised in Winchester, Ryan began performing on London’s streets and at Toronto open-mics, studying poetry in Dublin and moving to Berlin in 2015.

Ryan has released three studio albums - The Northern Line reflects on youth and transition with warmth and intimacy, while I Can’t Stand the Sound was recorded in New York and channels moments of disconnection and overload into sparse, cinematic arrangements. Both these albums were released on Doha based DNA Records.

Third album Other Plans, written during the pandemic, is quieter and introspective, highlighting Ryan’s gift for stories and lasting melodies. The album was created with support of Bicycle Path Productions in L.A. and recorded on the Isle of Wight with Spencer Cullum and David Granshaw.

Alongside his own work, Ryan lectures in poetry and songwriting at BIMM Berlin and has collaborated with artists including Amistat, Flyte, Jadea Kelly, Naviband and Anna Vaverková, collaborations that have amassed over 150 million streams across platforms in the last 18 months. His songs have been featured in TV series such as Station 19, McDonald & Dodds and with Blair Mowat he collaborated to compose the theme music for ITV drama After the Flood.
