Ice Island is the long awaited project of Steven Hawley, the previous brainchild/frontman of indie dance/synth ensemble, Codebreaker. After working with artists from The Juan Maclean, Miami Horror to Kathy Diamond & The Outrunners, Codebreaker ultimately disbanded in 2013. Going off the grid to focus on business endeavors & personal/artistic growth, Steven quietly worked on new material honing a fresh inspiration & sound.

Ice Island debuted in 2019 on a collaboration with synthwave sensation, Tonebox for the track, Enemies. Tonebox's invigorating brand of futurism combined with Hawley's commanding vocals & writing instincts made a substantial splash.

'The General' is Ice Island's first official single. It's a big, warm, catchy tune with toughness and vulnerability. Following up The General was an alluring rendition of The Little Drummer Boy. It's full of big, driving atmosphere, John carpenter-esch vibes & linear arrangement. Following that came Population, a synth laden, western-tinged dystopian love song. Look for a new stream of Ice Island material as well as live shows to follow.
