Ikatik

Born Jermaine Gushman in Lesterfield Clarendon, is a Singer, Song-Writer, Composer, Producer, who discovered his love for music at age eight (8) when he created his first song. At age 14, while attending Bethel College high school, Ikatik wrote and recorded his first official track. Since then, he released numerous works that have gotten local and international recognition and have been played on various radio stations.


Ikatik enjoys listening to various local Jamaican artistes and other artistes such as Michael Jackson, The Weekend and Post Malone, but he is not limited by his favorites as he does enjoy music from all genres. In the creation of his own work, he gets inspiration from his life experiences and uses music as an outlet for self expression and comfort.


He describes his music as a fusion of Pop and Reggae and he differentiates himself from other artistes by using his unique sound and style; presenting himself and his craft as a “whole new idea”.


Ikatik’s first EP release, titled “Style of Love” will be released in February of 2022 for valentines while his previously released projects are currently available on all major streaming platforms and digital outlets. He can be found on Social media sites @ikatikmusic.
