Shape-shifting is a mythological phenomenon where a creature is able to adapt and transform itself into different shapes and forms of life. Deep Breath is South Africa's musical shape-shifter, if there ever was one.
The creative mind behind this conceptual outfit is Thato Motsepe who, since 2014 has performed with some of South Africas most talented musicians. Thato, a graduate in Jazz studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Red Bull Music Academy Alumni is a Producer, drummer and pianist.
Fusing the elements of Jazz, Kwaito, Soul, Electronic and Dance music, this unique musical outfit thrives on experimenting with an array of sounds and colors with various combinations of musicians would would not ordinarily collaborate.
