London based producer Impey has carved out an impressive reputation for intelligent, grime-leaning club constructions inspired by a multitude of styles that have made an impact on the electronic landscape since 2014.
A producer more commonly associated with instrumental grime spheres with releases on Sector 7, Astral Black and Coyote Records, Impey’s new stage of production samples a maturing, thoughtful new direction for his music — as evidenced by recent mixes on Ghost Notes’ monthly NTS show.
Establishing new label Ghost Notes with close affiliate O-Dessa in 2018, the label aim to “deliver conceptual ideas through sound, visuals and physical objects”, informed by the pair’s shared passion for music and the arts.
