Inner Sky

INNER SKY presents jazz pop art songs by composer/pianist Wendy Loomis and vocalist Barbara Jaspersen. A SPARK is their debut album. The album includes 9 original compositions and 1 special cover.

Ms. Loomis has composed music for three independent films; numerous choral, flute and string ensembles; the ClimateMusic Project; and 20 albums as a soloist, part of duos Phoenix Rising and AWE, and band COPUS. She has received numerous nominations and awards for her compositions from ASCAP, Indie Music Channel, W.A.M., Global Music, Clouzine International, Unisong International Song Competition, and the Hollywood Music Awards. With COPUS she has toured nationally and performed at such luminary clubs as The Bitter End and Feinstein's 54 in New York, The Cutting Edge Festival in New Orleans, The Peachtree Festival in Atlanta, and The San Francisco Jazz Center. She is a voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammy Awards ®).

Ms. Jaspersen has performed as an actress in film and live theater and also as a singer for many years. Currently, she is the lead vocalist for the modern pop-folk band Stray Muse. Invited by poet Royal Kent and composer/pianist Wendy Loomis, Barbara has been a long-standing member of spoken word ensemble COPUS for two decades. She can be heard on COPUS and Wendy Loomis albums, in independent film Virgin of the Candles, and in recordings by rock group Tawdry Hepburn.
