Inspektionen is back! After a long hiatus, the band suddenly found a burst of inspiration and decided to create new music together again.
The three original members Andreas, Jonas and Anders met in school in the 90's in the Swedish town Umeå. They started playing skate punk together, inspred by bands like <a href="spotify:artist:4S2yOnmsWW97dT87yVoaSZ" data-name="NOFX">NOFX</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7BSxCOzpLRbjCicJW0sUv7" data-name="Randy">Randy</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7qpy5KY3DVrezixTl6mziA" data-name="Propagandhi">Propagandhi</a> but quickly found a way to include darker and more emotional influences. The band released Oxygen E.P. and quickly became a part of the town's hardcore punk scene, driven by bands like <a href="spotify:artist:5sdxGvwxI1TkTA6Pu2jnTb" data-name="Refused">Refused</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:74Ga0Qa6I9MOq0HbvCFbK9" data-name="Abhinanda">Abhinanda</a>.
As the band matured, their influences changed from skate punk towards indie rock, rockabilly and classic rock. As the sound and line-up shifted, the band released music under the names Scared and The Beat Community before returning to their original three-piece line-up. Only this time with a new sound, with Swedish lyrics, under the name Inspektionen.
The 2023 release <a href="spotify:album:4Sd8VvqUPz6NGYTT6NmcR9" data-name="Länge sedan">Länge sedan</a> marked the completion of the presumed lost first Inspektionen recording from 2004. The mixing of the recording ignited the creative process and out of nowhere, new songs were being written and recorded.
In 2025, Inspektionen released <a href="spotify:album:1PmrLTIOrWvNPV40PMALhf" data-name="Återfås mot beskrivning">Återfås mot beskrivning</a>, the first EP with new music. The EP includes a cleaner mix of the come-back single <a href="spotify:track:0crTaxGshv4bBezv676VdF" data-name="Buss 1 till Lidköping">Buss 1 till Lidköping</a> from the year before, along with three new tracks laying the sonic foundation for the reborn Inspektionen.
