iOna Reine

Mercy Onuawonto Sam, popularly known as iOna Reine, is a Ghanaian performing artist and songwriter who hails from Akropong Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Her style of music is mainly Afropop with more focus on Highlife music. She is however a versatile artist and she likes to express her great talent through other genres of music.
iOna has been doing music for a while but decided to make it a career about two years ago. She is also a professional midwife. Within this short 2-year period, she has been nominated for the New Artist Of The Year category at the 2020 edition of the Ghana Music Awards USA among other nominations.
iOna aspires to break international boundaries with her music as she shares positivity through her music with the world. Her EP “IONAEP” which includes 6 diverse genres of music, with songs like Obra which talks about staying positive in life no matter the struggles, has amassed numerous plays both digitally and on radio. She will continue to channel love through her art and will always use her art to serve humankind.
