Dutch-Indian pianist Ischico is a musical explorer who forges direct connections with her audience. Her adventurous approach uncovers hidden gems in the piano repertoire, while her own compositions and improvisations blend classical traditions with folk and jazz influences. Critics praise her playing as "effortlessly expressive" and "technically extremely fluent."
Inspired by artists like Tigran Hamasyan, Zara Levina, Nitai Hershkovits, Ethan Gruska, and Spinvis, she moves fluidly between musical worlds. A natural collaborator, she brings classical music into dialogue with other art forms, working with visual artists, dancers, and theater makers. Her curiosity for undiscovered music earned her first prize in the Lamond Prize with Medtner’s Sonata-Skazka.
She has performed internationally on stages such as Amsterdam’s Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and at festivals like the Grachtenfestival and Glasgow Piano Festival. Her performances have been featured on NPO Klassiek and SBS Australia. Trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Barcelona’s Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, she has studied with leading pianists and received support from VSBFonds, Amarte Fonds, AFK, Heij Konijn Fonds, and Ars Donandi.
Beyond the stage, Ischico finds inspiration in the simplicity of daily life and the people around her—moments that, in turn, shape her music.
