J Rick Flores

Music has provided beautiful threads running through the life of J Rick Flores. From an early age he began studying classical guitar, focusing on mastering solo pieces culminating in winning the North American Invitational Championship. Composition is a skill he has developed ultimately winning the Downbeat Magazine Songwriting contest. Throughout his life, he has performed live connecting with audiences while striving for straight-to-the-heart communication through his songs and melodies. Key musical influences came from his Latin American roots including the great guitar rock and jazz guitarists blending diverse musical genres. Jazz and fusion gave other inspiration that carries through in his music today. His life also included a career as a software technology leader. Now, he has come home to music and is energized by today’s possibilities to conceive, develop, record and distribute one’s own music with a chance to reach an audience of fans that appreciate the sound emanating from the heart and soul of this artist.
