Steinar Ytrehus

Steinar Ytrehus, the Norwegian guitarist and recording artist, started his musical journey at 15, plucking his first chords and soon capturing his artistry on a Tascam 4-track Tape Recorder. His lifelong dedication to crafting and recording music has left an indelible mark, with some of his tracks finding a home on the soundtracks of Norwegian TV shows.

For years, Steinar's talent as a remixer on Indaba Music shone brightly, netting him victories in various contests. But in 2018, he embarked on a transformative path, setting aside instrumental work only, to embrace lyrics and vocals as well.

Steinar's heart pulsates for the emotive storytelling, ethereal soundscapes, and entrancing grooves of legends like Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Waits, and Mark Ribot. His contemporary influences, including Stein Torleif Bjella, Tyler Childers and Citizen Cope paint a modern brushstroke on his musical canvas.

Steinar has been a collector of guitars and studio equipment for many years, and his creative sanctuary is his studio.

In 2020, Steinar celebrated the release of his debut album, Dark Songs.
In 2021, he took his craft to new heights, unveiling a brand new studio.

Black Coffee and Sweet Love songs his latest album, was released in 2022, a testament to his enduring commitment to his craft. At the moment Steinar is working on new singles and he tries to release a new one every 6 weeks for his fans.
