Jackie Jaxx

Jackie Jaxx is a Guyanese Singer/Songwriter and Visual Artist. She was born Jackie Alicia Hanover in Georgetown on April 28, 1990. Her songs typically chronicle stories of life in Guyana and many have uplifting and encouraging messages for listeners.
She started singing in 2009 and became known to the Guyanese public by competing in local talent shows.
She was also a member of the Heatwave band and toured the country with the group from 2010-2013 singing reggae and soca covers. In 2014, Jackie parted ways with the band and went on to release a slew of songs under her moniker. Their popularity at home and within the international disapora led to her 2014 release 'Money' receiving a placement in Love & Hip Hop Atlanta in 2016 and she toured a few US states that same year.
Jackie also released 'Guyana', in 2016, a ballad inspired by a calypso song which released in 1990 by D'Ivan for her country's 50th Independence. She performs it often for local ceremonies and has also showcased it in Antigua, the US, and Beijing, China. One of her most notable performances was in 2020 at the inauguration of President Mohammed Irfaan Ali. In 2020, Jackie also launched her own clothing line, Jaxx Apparel which included T-shirts and accessories bearing her own designs. She is supported by a growing base of over 20,000 across her social platforms.
