Raised in Virginia and based in New York City, Jacob Lourie has been writing, performing and recording music since 2014. Since then, he has tirelessly created countless new sounds and songs, combining a classic rock-inspired musical palate with a modern sonic aesthetic.
It was during his childhood in Charlottesville, Virginia that Jacob discovered and fostered his talent and passion for songwriting and performance, inspired by artists such as The Beatles, Prince and Paul Simon. Parallel to his rock-driven live pursuits, he found himself falling in love with the sounds of contemporary experimental pop and hip-hop artists such as Frank Ocean and J Dilla.
Upon his move to New York City, presented with the daunting task of defining himself within a new scene, his mission became clear: to write classic songs and stories and fit them into an experimental sonic framework. On Jacob’s upcoming debut singles, “Miss Adventure,” “Getting Used To This,” and “Automatic,” his vision of old-sounds-made-new is realized.
