Jacob's Fall's music has an often dark and always melodic aura, even in its sonically heaviest moments. It's a sound you won't forget once you've heard it. The band draws on various musical genres to entangle the listener in a web of melancholy with a steely determination at its core. Furthermore, the album's eleven songs will tear you away from your everyday worries, telling stories full of passion and pain.
The roots of Jacob’s Fall go way deeper than their official birth in 2016. Some of the members were playing in nineties Dark Rock hopefuls My Insanity and toured Europe alongside acts like Lacuna Coil, Samael or Therion. As was the case back then, Jacob's Fall also places great emphasis on the sound quality of their albums. For their 2019 debut album, "The War We Miss?", they enlisted the help of a true luminary: At Woodhouse Studios, Siggi Bemm, who also produced the first My Insanity albums, gave "The War We Miss?" a natural, warm, and mystical sound that brings the feel of the old benchmark works of Tiamat, Moonspell, and The Gathering into the present. "Lost In Silence" was produced entirely independently and finished at Sawdust Studios in Halle/Saale by Annisokay mastermind Christoph Wieczorek. His modern and powerful sound perfectly matches the mostly dark stories told on the current album.
The quintet's atmospheric, bittersweet rock is never hopeless. Instead, it's intensely elegiac, thoughtful, and thoroughly serious.
