Jada Nycole Ellise

Jada Nycole Ellise is a Detroit born singer, songwriter and producer. Ellise creates a soulfully whimsical world of sounds, cultivating a sound reminiscent of classic 90s neo-soul and R&amp;B. She cites <a href="spotify:artist:2FjkZT851ez950cyPjeYid" data-name="Bobby McFerrin">Bobby McFerrin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0uZRjholJ0fVC2J9EvnYnj" data-name="Meshell Ndegeocello">Meshell Ndegeocello</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0uNEy4544VZq2KOl7BsLuo" data-name="Lalah Hathaway">Lalah Hathaway</a> as some of her influences. Ellise also credits 90s gospel and musician <a href="spotify:artist:1xy9x7h2jKEg8iG22Sml32" data-name="Tye Tribbett">Tye Tribbett</a> for &#34;encouraging the discovery of her own musical aesthetic&#34; early on in life.

As a teenager, Ellise attended The Detroit School of Arts as a vocal major and released music on YouTube, Reverb Nation and MySpace under various names. In 2014 Ellise placed runner-up in the Detroit Jazz Festival Youth Vocal competition. Ellise has performed background vocals for jazz vocalist <a href="spotify:artist:6PmFyvJI0cXPQnbCqlhiv9" data-name="Kathleen Bertrand">Kathleen Bertrand</a>, additionally performing as an opening act for artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:2DzRMyWgjuMbYvt5BLbpCo" data-name="Anthony Hamilton">Anthony Hamilton</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3YJMzGjAm245zwJooY7PEj" data-name="Chrisette Michele">Chrisette Michele</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7zmk5lkmCMVvfvwF3H8FWC" data-name="Elle Varner">Elle Varner</a>, and soul legends <a href="spotify:artist:6rXycobs8wkWicUGLtmB0n" data-name="Frankie Beverly">Frankie Beverly</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:3DvdryKH4O95ZnsUZJKXpt" data-name="Maze">Maze</a>.

Ellise&#39;s debut album titled &#34;Temporary Colors&#34; will be released on June 19, 2020.
