Jah Rej

Jah Rej founded Jah Works records in the U.K. in 1989 & was an early producer on the sound systems during the explosion of the dub scene in the U.K. in the early 90’s, popularized thanks to heavy rotation by sound selectors such as Jah Shaka & Aba-Shanti..
Rej has produced a number of artists over the years including Martin Campbell, GT Moore, Mene Man, Vivian Jones, Teddy Dan, Hornsman Coyote, Donette Forte, King Shiloh & many more.
Rej has guest selected on sound systems in 3 continents & has worked closely in the studio & live events with a number of bands including Seventh Sense, Irie Vibes Band, Revolutionary Dub Warriors, RDF, Dub The Earth & more.
Jah Works early productions are renowned for their analogue tape sound and as the years have moved on the label and music has maintained a strong emphasis on vintage production & musicality. The full Jah Works catalogue includes hundreds of singers & players & always features live outboard mixes.
Although he writes songs for many different artists & singers, Jah Rej as an artist himself presents dub music and instrumentals.
Over the years Rej has worked & produced at various different studios starting at Channel 1 UK, then setting his own Seventh Sense Studio. The studio was active for 15 years before Rej relocated to Belgium in 2009 to help build the Irie Vibes crews GreenTongue Studio & since 2013 Jah Works operational HQ is based at Earth Works Studio in Amsterdam.
