Ghanaian singer/songwriter Jahplaka became a force to reckon with after his solo release 2018 "Listen Up", which earned him a seat in Spotify's top editorial playlists. Born Plakoo Joshua on the 31st of December 1995, Jahplaka grew up in Abeka Lapas, Ghana, his musical journey started by singing songs taught by his mom to his father's church congregation at the age of 6.
His father, a pastor, an ex-member of the early 70's Ghanian band 'Explosive Confusion', co-wrote 'How Long', one of Jahplakas finest masterpieces from his debut studio project Vitamin C.
In his early teens, Plaka developed a love for rap music, he started creating and re-writing songs he loved and performed as a rapper to his friends.
Around this time, his music began to move steadily and increasingly towards a fusion of reggae and hip hop. Now an aficionado in classic reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop, his nifty fusion of them is gaining him a rapid worldwide fanbase growth, and winning the heart of music lovers across the globe.
Jahplaka's approach has become increasingly pensive and sharply critical of issues endemic to society at large, focused more on stimulating minds than entertaining.
