Jahson The Scientist is a “wordsman” and has been described as a Spoken Word Artist, eMCee and anything in-between. Raised in both London and Montserrat (Caribbean) the lyricist’s music is centred in hip hop with afro, UK and soul influences.
He lives every moment onstage, known for his ability to create songs in the moment, his use of word-play and ability to inspire. Named "Star of The Week” for his No Doubt EP, rounded up in the Best of 2016 with his trio Scattah Brain, and in 2021 Sketches on Duality found themselves No.1 for 3 weeks on Austria's Indie Charts. His performance with Sketches on Duality at Popfest was featured on the evening news highlights, Zib 2.
The Scientist has a focus on human potential and he often gives the listener a view through the keyhole to the riddle of Adam from atoms, culture, “black” matters, science and spirit.
He has performed at festivals like Poesiefestival (Berlin), Soundcity Liverpool, DonauInselfest, Reeperbahn, Popfest, Donaufest International, Kultursommer, Soundframe and. Other performances MQ Winter Opening with SK Invitational, Ty, Homeboy Sandman, FM4's Session alongside The Ruff Pack , Oe1 with Sketches, Radio Eins (Berlin), Radio 1 Xtra, Kiss FM (London) and support for The Roots, Inner Circle and GZA amongst others.
