Jozua Aaron Isaias Wowor, a.k.a. ‘JAI’ was born on 16-11-97 and grew up just outside Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
After honing his vocal skills in the entrance course of the Rotterdam Conservatorium. He became the lead singer of the popular boy band B-Brave, JAI found himself performing in the X-Factor finals in 2013 and in major venues like Amsterdam’s ZiggoDome. B-Brave received industry awards and platinum honours.
these were exciting times for JAI, in which he got his first taste of fame and success. He found the lifestyle too regimented.
While visiting a friend’s studio at age 18, he was inspired to write a track called Rockstar. JAI decided it was time to leave B-Brave and start his own course.
fans were devastated when they heard it shortly after that this would be the end of B-Brave.
He signed with a new label and switched management companies, one headed by a fresh young talent three years older than himself and every bit as ambitious.
He pursued a independent approach in collaborations with producers, and expected his songwriting partners to show the same degree of vulnerability as JAI does in the writing process. Some of his compositions are so catchy that they would get the whole studio going, like his very first track, Follow Me, while at other times he preferred to channel his energy into more laid-back songs.
Jai cites D’Angelo and Michael Jackson as influences, though his sound has always been very much his own.
