Singer/Songwriter James Franklin grew up in the hills of the Dandenong Ranges in
Victoria, Australia. At the age of 7, he wrote and recorded his first song. At the age of 9, he attempted a world record for ‘most people playing the same song on guitar at the same time (the song was ‘Smoke On The Water’, naturally), but it wasn’t until he was 12 that he decided he wanted to write and perform for the rest of his life.
Since then, James Franklin has gone on to release two EP’s (The Laundry Room Mixtape, Pumpkin Pie) and an LP (KID), tour Australia and the U.S.A (including a stop at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville), perform alongside the likes of 5 Seconds Of Summer, Daryl Braithwaite, Joan Osborne, and perform at notable venues & festivals, such as, Queenscliff Music Festival, the MCG and a headline show at The Toff In Town.
As we move into the next phase of James Franklin’s music, listeners can expect to hear a more acoustic, raw sound with heart-breaking and heart-making lyrics. A return to the roots of Franklin’s songwriting, straight from the heart.
