Jamie Dunphy and True North features three seasoned musicians with a long history in the Boston music scene: <a href="spotify:artist:0gT78N73fKKwMtRc4l5iQP" data-name="Jamie Dunphy">Jamie Dunphy</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:67PPamnziRbwdAIRhepRqz" data-name="The Beige">The Beige</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5wOBf3ati3eceiGfxXAAjD" data-name="Mill City Trio">Mill City Trio</a>), Seth Peterson (<a href="spotify:artist:0fiX1uoVvXH1FEBFN84iBM" data-name="Electric Standard">Electric Standard</a>, The Gone Boys, Capital 6) and Tod Salmonson (The Snap Daddies, Dr. Smigley's Baby). The trio formed in June of 2018 and have been performing regularly since at Boston-area venues including the Burren Backroom, the Midway Cafe, Lilypad Inman and the Square Root.
In May 2025, the band released Stage Dive Into Oblivion, a collection of four singles including The Last Song, 1983, Everything Must Go, and Snowfall, which Stereo Stickman called "a gorgeously refreshing classic."
In May 2021, the group released their first full-length album, Dark Night Bright Morning, which featured the hit singles The Girl in the Boat and The Great Divide. The album garnered much critical acclaim:
