"Powerhouse neo- soul artist Janice Freeman rose to national attention in 2017 as a contestant on NBC's talent competition The Voice.

Originally from Harrisburg Pa , Freeman grew up singing and before she went on The Voice was making a name for herself in musician circles throughout Southern California. Under coach Miley Cyrus, Freeman rose all the way to Top 11 on The Voice's 13th season . After leaving the show Freeman’s popularity only grew as other artists approached her to sing on various projects including Snoop Dogg , Ray- J and Paula Abdul.

In 2017 she released a single named “You” and another single , “Wildest Dreams “ which was on the Hopes and Dreams: A Lullaby Project, supported by Carnegie Hall and Decca Gold .

In March of 2019 Freeman suddenly passed away from an extreme case of pneumonia and a blood clot that traveled to her heart. Freeman is survived by her husband Dion , her daughter Hannah , her mother Janice , and her brothers and sisters.
