Born on Miami Beach and raised in Little Haiti, Jay V got his start in the underground hip-hop scene after singles <a href="spotify:track:5DuPOoH2elTuGHBiUpt1BY" data-name="Going on a Trip (feat. Jay Vilpin)">Going on a Trip (feat. Jay Vilpin)</a> and <a href="spotify:album:1UWe9SkGl1lc05YhqdU0ul" data-name="Again (feat. Lavishly Nasty)">Again (feat. Lavishly Nasty)</a> with fellow Miami native, <a href="spotify:artist:2nyFK75WEZ02p5BiqEGbtm" data-name="Lavishly Nasty">Lavishly Nasty</a> gained viral popularity. He is part of "The Good Stuff Entertainment" and a frequent musical collaborator with long time friend and Founder of TGSE, <a href="spotify:artist:20kCccVJuOGbnzYGOB7JY2" data-name="Shon Eleazor">Shon Eleazor</a>.
Jay Vilpin is also assistant musical director of the 305 Street Band, a brass heavy New Orleans style group with a Latin, Jazz, & Hip Hop inspired flavor. The band's past clients include the Miami Heat, <a href="spotify:artist:7JZafQsN8syJ9agEtcyP4V" data-name="Shy Carter">Shy Carter</a>, & the <a href="spotify:artist:7gOdHgIoIKoe4i9Tta6qdD" data-name="Jonas Brothers">Jonas Brothers</a>. Vilpin toured the United States on trumpet in 2017, 2018-2019 with Drumline Live! also known as Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella Band ‘The BZZZZ’. He also toured in Vancouver, B.C to play the blues with <a href="spotify:artist:5xLSa7l4IV1gsQfhAMvl0U" data-name="B.B. King">B.B. King</a>’s All Star Band.
Jay V’s first EP, <a href="spotify:album:6LByw5Jz80vRYWNJnEftjh" data-name="Vacation">Vacation</a> was released mid 2016, and has since dropped two more projects while on tour, <a href="spotify:album:53mcKgYHpooJFFqxdUlsus" data-name="Patience">Patience</a> and <a href="spotify:album:5q9GTM0YpmlIno8Wtvoctt" data-name="The Mysticat">The Mysticat</a> in 2017. Growth came in 2018 with self-produced <a href="spotify:track:47qN35RZChok5RuWoT9eAY" data-name="Don't Fold">Don't Fold</a> as the lead single. Soon after, <a href="spotify:album:7e84RmSohNmoHyPHjIygiV" data-name="Summer '18">Summer '18</a> dropped on while he had a residency at <a href="spotify:artist:32vWCbZh0xZ4o9gkz4PsEU" data-name="Dolly Parton">Dolly Parton</a>’s Dollywood Theme Park.
