Since accidentally discovering she could rap in 2014, Jazmine Nikao has steadily been blazing her own trail. Overcoming deep-rooted pains and self-doubt, Jazmine now makes music to be a light in the darkness. The Richmond, Va bred Emcee inspires people to discover the grit in life! With the creative door wide open, she continually falls in love with orchestrating new sounds.
Bucking whatever the current trend is, Jazmine Nikao's music is a mixture of hip hop with funk, soul, jazz, pop, and R&B influences. Being the daughter of jazz musician, she was exposed to a plethora of music. Nikao's sound is smooth yet raw, down to earth, and always inspirational. Her aptly named debut project Eclectic was released in March 2018, the same month which she was a featured performed at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Her energetic performance captivated the audience as she displayed her talents on one of the world's biggest stages.
Jazmine Nikao is really just a big kid at heart! She is a great sports player, with her "main chick" being basketball. A movie buff, avid dancer and airplane fanatic, Jazmine really just loves finding ways to have a good time with her family. She is well known for bursting out in random songs, laughing, and putting a smile on every face in the room.
Finally, one of her main passions is serving at and with her church. According to Jazmine, Jesus is the homie! Nikao credits her strength, grit, hope and talent to her Lord and Savior.
