Jeanette Williams

Talented bluegrass vocalist Jeanette Williams was born in North Carolina and raised in Virginia. She was one of seven children who grew up in a home filled with music. She began singing at a young age. Her professional career originated with country music when she was in her early twenties. In 1989, she switched to bluegrass and joined a band called <a href="spotify:artist:24k7DQG3asoxeOERUfa4JS">Clearwater</a>. One of the members was Johnny Williams, the man she married two years later. Working as singer for <a href="spotify:artist:24k7DQG3asoxeOERUfa4JS">Clearwater</a>, Jeanette performed at countless bluegrass festivals in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Florida, and even into France. During this time, she earned a number of awards, including four Female Vocalist of the Year awards. In 1994, Jeanette released her debut solo album, Dreams Do Come True, under the Flyin' Cloud Records label. This first offering carries traditional bluegrass tracks like "Please Remember That I Love You," "Time Is Like a Teardrop," and "Foggy Mountain Top."

By 1996, the <a href="spotify:artist:24k7DQG3asoxeOERUfa4JS">Clearwater</a> band was renamed Jeanette Williams and Clearwater. That same year, Jeanette recorded a second album with her husband, <a href="spotify:artist:24qtJegdRiX2TPRvPN6rzk">Johnny</a>, simply titled Johnny and Jeanette Williams. In 1997, she saw the release of Blue Ridge Mountain Sun with the <a href="spotify:artist:24k7DQG3asoxeOERUfa4JS">Clearwater</a> band. The group was also chosen that year and the next to appear at the annual International Bluegrass Music Association conference.

In 1999, Jeanette finished another solo project, Cherry Blossoms in the Springtime. It was released under the Doobie Shea Records label and quickly landed on the bluegrass charts where it stayed put for nearly a year.
