Born in 1994 in Columbus, Ohio to two immigrant parents of Cantonese descent, Jeion was raised in a rather typical Asian-American household in the United States. With both parents working tirelessly to run a Chinese fast-food restaurant, Jeion was often left in care of his maternal grandmother.

In 2008, after receiving some slight exposure to Korean rock music at his local Korean Tae Kwon Do lessons, Jeion chased his spark of interest in Korean media onto YouTube and–as many K-pop fans could probably relate–promptly fell into the rabbit hole of obsessively consuming Korean media content. His discovery of the sensational Korean boy group <a href="spotify:artist:6nVMMEywS5Y4tsHPKx1nIo" data-name="TVXQ!">TVXQ!</a> would be his introduction to the fascinating world of K-pop, glittered with the many attractive and confident Asian faces that western media never represented in his childhood.

Jeion’s love for K-pop led him to pursue a career in South Korea as an idol, resulting in a stint of successful promotions as a professional dancer before the pandemic started in 2020. Despite his experience mainly as a dancer, Jeion never forgot his main aspiration that one day, he would travel the world and perform on stage to his own music, even if it meant that he would have to do it on his own.
