Jermaine Peterson is a powerful singer and songwriter, straddling the lines of Soul, Jazz, HipHop and
Urban. He combines these influences to write beautifully enthralling pop songs, empowered by the
human spirit.
It’s been a long time coming. The Manchester singer has been honing his sound playing live in the north
of the UK, finally arriving at the start of the new decade with a much anticipated debut single in
‘Courage’. The track was birthed out of a session back in the summer of 2019 at Berlin's Bewake
studios, produced by Dhanya Langer - producer on JuJu Rogers latest album on Jakarta Records. The
song brings together elements of jazz inspired lo-fi hip hop in its production, combined with Jermaine's
timelessly soulful vocals.
The northern singer is already recognised, and is garnering strong support amongst his peers;
he has collaborated with the likes of producer collectives Levelz, and producers such as Werkha, featuring on their original recorded material and at shows such as the Manchester International Festival and Scala in London. Without having released any music at all, his powerful live performances have allowed Jermaine to develop a steadily growing and loyal following in the north of the UK, supporting the likes of Skinny Living, Joe Armon-Jones, Kill Miami and Nubiyan Twist, to packed venues such as Band on The Wall, Brudenell, Wardrobe, and Yes. Most recently Jermaine completed a week-long residency at
Latitude festival.
