Disappointed love, longing, or even more so – unfulfilled desire: ‘There's no use for me to gettin' up again / And I dream your lips onto my skin’. But there is no one left. No one to snuggle up to, except Jesper Munk's voice. A voice that, despite all its emotional depth, comforts while ‘Morning Coffee’ exudes its comforting aroma: ‘It's a morning without you,’ sings Jesper Munk, and his pain seems real, while at the same time one can already see light (and a pinch of irony) at the end of the corridor of the soul: ‘And Shakespeare and his breed / They were just people like you and me / So we make those ghosts disappear’.

‘Morning Coffee’, which Jesper Munk arranged and orchestrated here together with Max Knoth (Moby, Tina Dico, Nils Frahm, Calexico, Die Sterne, among others) – with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg conducted by Scott Lawton (Udo Lindenberg, Scorpions, Joy Denalane, among others) – is one of his most successful songs to date from the 2015 album ‘Claim’, which is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary. This single release is Jesper Munk's first musical sign of life since ‘Yesterdaze’ and also announces his ‘best of ... live’ double album, due out in September 2025.
