Sophie Lindinger and Marco Kleebauer jointly write, produce and perform under the moniker Leyya since 2014. With their song „Superego“ they gained airplay and support by a number of prominent international Radio DJs all across Europe and features in global advertisement campaigns.
In 2016, „Butter“ followed directly in those footsteps. During that time Leyya established themselves as a great live band at european festivals. In 2017, they won the Radio FM4 Award at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.
„Zoo“ (2017) was the kick-off to a new-era that mounted into the release of their sophomore album „Sauna“ (2018). The albums colourful, quirky sound was met with highest praise from the press, including journalistic heavyweights TIME and Der Spiegel. The duo went on to win another Amadeus Award in 2018 („Best Alternative“) and played a tour of 20+ countries including Mexico and the US.
The iconic video for "Wannabe“ won them an UK Music Video Award as 'Best Newcomer' (2018).
While both Marco (Bilderbuch a.o.) & Sophie (My Ugly Clementine) kept producing charting records, they took a break from the band for almost 2yrs before releasing EP "Longest Day Of My Life" in August 2021.
In 2024, after the last release being „Someone/Fix“ it as a double single in 2022, the duo released their third full length studio album „Half Asleep“, showing a more sophisticated electronic vibe without losing their profound songwriting and their talent to write catchy melodies.
