Born and raised in Woodbrook, Trinidad & Tobago, based in Florida, Jesse Rinks is a software engineer and music producer best known for his passion for God and for blending and interweaving various cultures in his creative work. He makes his own instrumentals which he credits to his culturally-rich upbringing having grown up in Trinidad's diverse cultural landscape.
When asked what genre he thinks his music best falls into, he answered "Life" with a hearty laugh and went on to explain that music nowadays shouldn't be put into a box. "All genres have grown and continue to be grafted on the backs of each other nowadays, some people might hear a modern Soca song and call it Afrobeat or Reggae, who are we to say they're wrong?"
He seeks to glorify God through his music and has a passion for inspiring the youth to delight themselves in the Lord's goodness.
"I see the music landscape nowadaysl. We need a bigger catalogue of uplifting, spirit-driven music. I just want to add to that, you know? My ultimate goal is to, one day, do for somebody what Positive did for me through his music. When I was 14 and my mom was hospitalized, I was grateful for 'Never Let Go', it really helped me man.
My songs are always based around true prayers in my heart. 'I just wanna grow close to you, stressful days, sleepless nights, I want you by my side, stay in my heart all the time...', like that's legit me talking to God... you know? Nothing fancy, just sincere. Give thanks”
