Jhay, Recording Artist and Musician based in Maputo, Mozambique.

The young artist began writing & recording songs in 2017, and he went on to release a plethora of music from his first EP “Full Disclosure” in 2021 which features one of the most prominent talents in Mozambique ‘EMMVR’.

Followed by his 2nd EP ‘Azul’ in 2022, which set the tone for a new era of his career inside of the local music industry. The project is home to one of his standout records “Full Moon” featuring ‘Nicko Journey’.

Momentum continued in 2023 with the release of “Luxury”, his first single under the collective MESS RECORDS. The track garnered significant attention across the local music scene and premiered at that year’s edition of ‘Mozambique Fashion Week’.

2024 was a breakout year for the singer/songwriter, featured in Mark Exodus’ hit single “DopaMina” attaining mass commercial success. Only a week after, the promising artist released his debut album ‘LAPIS’ alongside Mozambiques’ most influential artists such as Mark Exodus, King Cizzy, Tykid & Hacelen Royer.

In 2025, Jhay expanded his artistic footprint through key collaborations and releases, appearing on Hernâni’s Músicas Perdidas 5 (“Ficar”), contributing as a songwriter to Kamané Kamas’ Líder Supremo, penning the record “Confesso”, and releasing singles “Mexe” featuring nēlla and “FUN!” alongside Hyuta Cezar, further defining his evolving sound within Mozambique’s contemporary urban music scene.
