Hi, this is Jiire writing. This is an invitation to more than the music. Join me :
My name 'Jiire', given to me by my dear mother means "...waking up to goodness" in our traditional language Yoruba, originating in the western parts of Nigeria. I did grow up in Nigeria - Abuja to be more specific. I grew up on music, literature, poetry, and love. My mum would play Asa and Luther Vandross all morning before school. Right now, I'm listening to 'Another Half' by Cautious Clay. It's such a beautiful song. I wanna make a song like that.
I take time to write and produce my music and deep in my heart, I just want the message to come across. That's my one goal: to tell you a story and be sure that you've gotten it. What you do afterwards is up to you. Right now, I'm listening to Impossible by Teezo Touchdown. My favorite line is '...who told you that it'd be impossible'.
My debut single ‘Bus 170’ paved the way for this beautiful journey as an artist. Since then I've received more Instagram DMs than I have replied to and sang on more stages than I can recall.
If any of my stories come across to you, I want you to follow me here and say Hi on Instagram @jiiresmith
See you soon,
Jiire Smith
