J.J. were the combination of singer Jan Johnston and musician Tony Kirkham, both from Manchester. After recording and releasing the single "If I Never See Sunday Again" they signed to Sony releasing the album "Intro..." and three singles. Whilst the duo split following the "Intro..." album, Johnston began a solo career with the majority of her debut album "Naked But For Lilies" being written with, and produced by, Kirkham. Kirkham himself would go on to be the touring drummer for The Stereophonics.
