Born at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. He was brought up with five brothers and three sisters, and yes, he was the youngest. J. McGuire was called to serve the Lord at an early age, and he continues to serve Him today. He is married to Evett McGuire, and is the proud father of two children--Joel McGuire, Jr. & Brianna Wells (son-in-law Johnathan Wells), and a stepfather to Deshaun Johnson. He is also the proud grandfather of Micah Wells. J. McGuire is a spiritual musician and his music addressed many of the social issues that we face, on a daily basis. His music is scripturally based, and designed to keep the listener entertained and created to keep the listener in God's word.
Joel also devotes his time and gifts as the minister of music at his church in Washington DC and,Turning Hearts Church (Pastor Virgil Thomas). J.McGuire now lives in White Plains Maryland and he has been living in the DMV for 23 years now.
