Joan Thiele is a versatile singer-songwriter and producer who spent her childhood between Colombia and Italy. Her soundscape ranges from R&B and soul to jazz allusions, with an international flair and a cinematic touch referencing the soundtracks of Italian cinema from the 1960s and 1970s, from Piero Umiliani to Piero Piccioni. Her musical and aesthetic signature is always original, proving that a new experimental approach to pop music is possible. This sonic awareness, which began with the EP "Operazione Oro," continued with "Atti" – a release divided into three episodes, where a sound universe strongly connected to the cinematic and identity-driven world emerges. In May 2023, she won the David di Donatello for Best Original Song with "Proiettili," from the film Ti mangio il cuore, which was presented at the 79th Venice Film Festival.
In 2025, Joan Thiele will compete for the first time as a big artist at the Sanremo Festival. In December 2024, she released "VELENO," the new song that not only anticipates her debut on the Ariston stage but also previews her upcoming album, set for release in the spring.
