Jodie is a composer and producer whose music centres around the neoclassical, soundtrack, and cinematic genres.

Today humans absorb the world around them and reflect that experience through their heart and soul to express themselves through the medium of music; tomorrow that may be less possible.

Many people invest years developing, practicing, and honing this art form for no other reason than which it gives a purpose and a reason to live. History teaches us as a species that we value and find beauty in that which is rare and is difficult to achieve.

The rapidly emerging abilities of generative AI would stifle the creative process for future generations by enabling results to be obtained with limited immersion and effort, and this can only devalue the art form, and erode the enjoyment and sensory achievement one experiences when one has strived to create a beautiful work.

I believe the creative process itself gives our species purpose and meaning. It does appear that we are gradually losing sight of what it means to be human. Reflecting on our emotions, and writing music from the heart and soul points toward the very essence of human nature. I would never knowingly use generative AI in the creation of my music. While my music may not always be polished; it is always from my heart and I feel proud to have left a whole part of me in the world for the enjoyment of generations to come which reflects who I am, what I stand for, where I’ve been, and what I aspire to be.
