Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann ) nominated artist, Joe Rusi began playing violin and piano when he was six and became a professional musician at fifteen, as vocalist and lead-guitarist. He has been a very active musician in clubs and on festival stages in Norway since early '00s and has also toured abroad ( US and Canada tour in 2010 and 2012). He worked as the principal of Lund Art School and leads the music section at Lundheim Folkehøyskole. Since 2013 Rusi has been radio host on Radio Kvinesdal with "Blues with Rusi".
Joe has been awarded the prestigious "Celebrity Scholarship" Berklee Collage of Music from a panel including Steve Vai, Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock and Mark Mothersbaugh and has a Masters Certificate in Songwriting and Guitar.
Joe Rusi’s album, "Who I Am" was recorded in New Orleans with legends like Grammy Award winner George Porter Jr. (bass, the Meters), Johnny Vidacovich(drums), John Papa Gros (piano), James Singleton, Doug Belote and, Mark Mullins& The Levee Horns in the backing. Arne Skage Jr. is the producer The recording took place in the Music Shed studios. The album was nominated to the Norwegian Grammys (Spellemannprisen ) 2016.
Joe Rusi's latest album "A Tout Le Monde from..." has been recorded in 2017 in New Orleans with the same team, plus the legendary Grammy Award winner Cyril Neville. The album has received great reviews all over the world and entered the Top 40 on the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association chart.
