Hi. I'm Joey. I started making music in high school as a beatboxer. I used to love making beatboxing videos and performing at small venues around New Jersey. My junior year in high school I took a piano elective that really inspired me to actually make music. When I turned 20 I bought my first microphone. Before then, I hadn't really ever recorded any of my vocals. Currently, I still use that same microphone, record all of my music in my bedroom, and send it off to get mixed by my friends.
Who am I influenced by? Great question thank you for asking. I grew up listening to Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Al Green. In middle school, I used to watch 106&Park every day, as I began to fall in love with early 2000's R&B. Currently, I appreciate anyone who contributes something new to the culture. I am drawn to artists like Andre 3000, Chance, and Kanye who changed the way we listen to hip hop.
