John Cerminaro

The technical virtuosity of British symphonic music has been combined with the thicker and richer American style by Texas-born horn player John Cerminaro. A former principal horn player for the <a href="spotify:artist:3gacryguGmpmCvgPGt2CBI">New York Philharmonic</a> from 1979 until 1989 and the Los Angeles Symphony from 1990 until 1997 under the direction of Carlo Maria Guilini, Cerminaro has been principal horn player for the <a href="spotify:artist:5KeUHRKEYWc5cFO5V032sb">Seattle Symphony Orchestra</a> since late 1998. A regular teacher and performer at the Aspen Music School since 1964, he celebrated his 30th anniversary at the school as the soloist by playing an interpretation of <a href="spotify:artist:4NJhFmfw43RLBLjQvxDuRS">Mozart</a>'s "Second Horn Concerto" with <a href="spotify:artist:22bLnWR6SUbuDyW0TDR6AR">Robert Spano</a> and the Aspen Festival Orchestra. His solo albums -- Screamers, The Solo Horn, A New Slain Knight, and Evening Voluntaries -- have shown his passion for avant-garde music. Cerminaro's talents have been obvious since earliest memory.
