Founded in 2012, Jointhugger has been mercilessly hurtling listeners into a ritualistic journey towards a smoky realm of the occult, theosophical mysticism, and deeply introspective themes of injustice and redemption in navigating the human experience for almost a decade, whilst honing their wickedly heavy craft and stoking the fires beneath a churning cauldron crushingly dark and groovy doomrock. The band's far out, psyched-up sound deftly incorporates technical melodic framing, arresting tempo changes, and time signatures amongst jazzy, psychedelic interludes and hefty grooves. Exotic rhythm and Latin rock elements deviously intertwine with focused, thundering riff refrains while earnest, compelling vocals cut to the bone through wicked fuzz and heavy distortion.
Delivered with provocative, powerful energy and dark visuals, Jointhugger's atmospheric live performances and anthemic debut album "I Am No One" released in April of 2020 has received fierce international acclaim and is being lauded as an instant cult classic. “Reaper Season, a single, mammoth 18 minute track was released in spring of 2021 to herald the first of two releases planned for the year from Majestic Mountain Records. The track was hailed as a genre defining masterpiece and foreshadows Jointhugger’s second, full length album “Surrounded By Vultures” is due out on Samhain, October 31st, 2021.
