Jonathan David Middleton

Born in Johannesburg (South Africa) and raised in Europe (Austria, Switzerland and the UK) before returning to Cape Town in 2018, Jonathan and his young family are part of a small church community rich in entrepreneurial flare and creativity. Since moving to Cape Town, some of the songs that have been in the hidden, have come to fully to life.

With more than 15 years experience running worship teams at university and youth summer camps, to writing and collaborating with artists from all corners of the globe as part of his role as Head of A&R at Resound Media, worship and songwriting is an inescapable call in Jonathan's life, and one which has taken many fascinating, challenging and rewarding twists and turns.

"Ultimately, my dream is to write songs that enthrone the King of Kings, and to inspire people to see beyond the limitations of the physical realm. I want to give people an outrageous vision of the grandeur, splendour, royalty and enormity of our Heavenly Father...and to do that through song! To be seated in the heavens with Jesus Christ and to have Him dwell within me while on this earth, is something that I think is worth singing about.

My debut EP, The High Place is about the rediscovery of pure worship and what it means to reclaim the High Places in our worship. When we reclaim the High Places, it allows for the Kingdom to break in in ways that will astound, and ultimately will causes the nations to tremble at His Name."
