Jones Monroe born Christina Pogue in Dallas, Tex. Grew up in Terrell, Tex. Jones started playing the piano at 5 years old, and training in opera at 7. Jones decided to release a mainstream project when she felt internally disturbed by the George Floyd death and mishandling of her people. “ I didn’t realize how much the situation disturbed me because I never dealt emotionally with the discrimination and racism I experienced my whole life. I became really depressed and all of the songs on my album poured out of me.” The songs on my debut album reflect my newfound black pride, self worth, sexuality, country roots and don’t fuck with me attitude.” Jones is releasing her debut single ‘Black’ Juneteenth 2021
