Jorge Ojeda is a pioneering force in Miami's dance music legacy—one of the youngest radio DJs and mixologists to rise from the vibrant streets of Cutler Ridge/Perrine during the early 1980s. Fueled by the grooves of Disco, Funk, and late-’70s dance music, Ojeda carved out a unique sonic identity just as Electro Funk, Latin Hip Hop, and Miami Bass began electrifying the underground.
By age 15, Ojeda had already cemented his name and that of his crew, The Sound of Destiny DJs, with hard-hitting Electro Funk and Freestyle sets that shook the Miami streets. His early notoriety earned him a slot as a mixologist at Super Q 107.5 FM, where he fused Disco, Freestyle, Electro Funk, Hi-NRG, Synth-Pop, and Italo Disco into genre-defying mixes. on the iconic radio show La Disco-Teca del Aire that helped define an era.
As the '80s progressed, Ojeda’s influence expanded on Rhythm 98.3 FM, an Urban Hip Hop/R&B station, where he introduced breakthrough tracks and artists that would help shape the sound of street-level dance music. His run would later extend to Power 96.5 FM, further solidifying his place as a driving force in South Florida radio culture.
Today, DJ Jorge Ojeda remains at the heart of the scene, hosting his acclaimed show, "Master Mix Sessions," every weekend on Wepa.Fm. The show is a pulse-pounding journey through Electro, House, Progressive, Tribal, Breaks, and NEO-Freestyle, and a testament to his enduring taste and versatility.
